4 Reasons Why You Should Buy a Hatchback in 2019

Buying a new car these days isn’t as simple as it used to be primarily because you get thoroughly confused with the different options and brands available in the market these days. The on-going discussion on whether a hatchback is a valuable purchase or not depends on the personal preference of the individuals. However, there some benefits of a hatchback car that cannot be ignored. So, here are 4 reasons why a brand new hatchback can be too hard to resist:

1. More than what meets the eye

A hatchback is a compact car loaded with all possible utilities which essentially means that consumers get more than what they pay for. Additionally, it’s important to realise that a hatchback has more boot space; thus, more storage is possible. Hence, for cargos and large storage needs, a hatchback is a great catch.

2. Affordable for everyone

One of the most appealing reasons to buy a hatchback is that it’s very cost-effective, which helps a large part of the population to own a car without burning a hole in their pockets. Along with this, it’s important to realise that small families can benefit from owning a reasonably priced hatchback, making it an ideal family car. For instance, the Alto K10 on road price by Maruti Suzuki is such that people can easily afford to buy it.

3. Maintenance is easy

Another major selling point of a hatchback is its minimal cost of maintenance. Servicing of cars can lead to hefty annual and bi-annual payments, which can be easily avoided with a hatchback car as its maintenance charges are pretty low. One such example is Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXI CNG that has a good mileage and needs minimal maintenance at the same time.

4. Perfect for city traffic

All metropolitans of India are currently facing traffic jams at almost all times of the day, during which cars tend to waste a lot of fuel. A hatchback is easy to manoeuvre through traffic and also easy to park in the tight-laned areas around the country.

A Brief about the Modern Diesel Engine

Named after Rudolf Diesel, the diesel engine is an internal combustion engine in which the ignition of the fuel is caused by the elevated temperature of the air in the cylinder that occurs due to mechanical combustion - also known as adiabatic compression.

The diesel engine is also known as a compression-ignition or CI engine and is in contrast with the spark-ignition engines in which a spark plug is used to ignite an air-fuel mixture. In a diesel engine, the compression increases the air temperature inside the cylinder to a high degree which in turn helps in a spontaneous ignition of the atomised diesel fuel that is injected into the combustion chamber.

For quite some time now, the top automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki's diesel engine cars that are designed with advanced features and specifications, for example, Maruti Suzuki cars with the DDiS diesel engine have managed to capture the attention of several car buyers in recent times. The diesel engine has one of the highest thermal efficiency due to its high expansion ratio and inherent lean burn that helps in heat dissipation by excess air. Here, a small amount of efficiency loss is avoided as unburned fuel is not present in the valve overlap.

Operating Principle behind a Diesel Engine

The characteristics of a diesel engine include –

Compression ignition: As mentioned before, because of the adiabatic compression, the fuel in a diesel engine car gets ignited without any external ignition gear like spark plugs. Also, the air and fuel are mixed in the combustion chamber.

Engine speed adjustment solely by mixture quality: Here, the torque produced, which results in the crankshaft rotation speed difference, is set by the mass of injected fuel rather than the throttling of the air-mixture.

High air ratio: Since a diesel engine mainly runs on air and not on the exact air-fuel mixture, they have a leaner and better ratio.

Fuel with high ignition performance: A diesel engine depends on the compression ignition and hence fuel with high ignition performance is more suitable for the best engine operation.

The diesel engine has undergone many advancements in recent times and diesel engine cars too have gained a lot of popularity.

Basic Maintenance Tips for Commercial Vehicles

Your commercial vehicles play a vital role in ensuring your business’s success. You need to keep your mini trucks or lorries in good condition to get efficient and maximum work done out of them. It does not matter if you have bought your mini trucks from the best brand in India, you still need proper care and service to keep your commercial vehicles in good condition. Here are a few ways that you can use to keep your commercial vehicles in good shape.

Check the battery

Checking the battery condition is extremely vital yet a neglected aspect. You need to check the battery and replace it at regular intervals. Make sure you use distilled water whenever required. It will aid the battery to get proper charge and work for a longer time. Also, the terminals of the battery should be cleaned and connected correctly.

Keep your vehicles safe from rust

Remember, rust not only affects the looks of your commercial vehicles but also their performance. It boosts the risk of damages in body parts. A good way to prevent rust is having a regular cleaning schedule and getting the commercial vehicle well-painted on a regular basis. Also, you have to pay extra attention to the under body parts since they are more exposed to dust and mud.

Air pressure in tyres

Tyres play a huge part in maintaining the efficiency and good performance of vehicles. You need to check whether all the tyres have accurate air pressure or not. Also, if your vehicles often go through rough terrains, tyres tend to lose their tread and grip quickly. Thus, you need to check the treads and assure that they are in good shape to offer the required grip.

In addition, make sure you buy lorries or mini trucks in India only from a reputed brand to be assured of getting better performance.
